Community Safety

The Community Safety team is working on new and creative ways to continue to deliver our services to communities during the emergency declaration related to the COVID-19 virus. This requires us to practice health related physical distancing measures for everyone’s safety.

We are here to support our Portland communities. Please continue to reach out to us and we can work with you on the best way to connect our services. If you have a creative idea, please share it with us!

A Holistic Approach

The Community Safety Program organizes and supports partnerships to build safe communities that are connected, inclusive, and engaged.

Our city is safer, stronger, and more vibrant when all Portlanders can participate and work collaboratively and creatively on public safety. We support neighbors to work with each other, with the City, and with community in addressing a broad range of interconnected public safety solutions, such as emergency preparedness, personal safety, community advocacy, active transportation, and more.

We asked Portlanders- What does community safety mean to you?

Check out their answers in this video!

The following clip is part of a series with production support by Portland Fire and Rescue.
