During their Tuesday, June 12 meeting the Central City 2035 Steering Committee reviewed the Policy Framework and the Urban Design Concept for the Central City. The committee was tasked with ensuring that the big ideas they’ve been discussing for the past several months are accurately captured in the Policy Framework. They then turned their attention to the Urban Design Concept which highlights the bold moves that will leverage public and private investment to maximize innovation and exchange within the Central City. The Urban Design Concept indicates areas for potential development as well as possible connections between districts and to the Willamette River. The committee appreciates the urban design concept as a communication tool that will guide the more detailed quadrant-level plans.
Read the meeting minutes to catch up on the conversation. The Steering Committee will meet again on July 10 to review the Central City Concept Plan once again and endorse the plan before it goes to public review, the Planning & Sustainability Commission, and City Council.
