UDS staff helped to develop a street improvement plan for West Burnside. Staff produced concepts for traffic testing and analysis, developed analysis maps and graphics, and helped to develop and refine design alternatives at intersections.
With Central City staff, the UDS developed new urban design concepts and a new street hierarchy for the north Pearl District. UDS staff also helped host a design charrette with city representatives, stakeholders and neighborhood representatives.
UDS helped develop a corridor-wide urban design concept, district diagrams, and a new set of design character statements for incorporation in the Community Design Guidelines document.

Comprehensive update of regulatory framework for the Gateway Regional Center in East Portland. UDS staff helped develop and refine urban design concepts, open space strategies and connectivity systems.
UDS worked with BPS, Bureau of Transportation and TriMet staff to examine conditions along SW 5th and 6th Avenues to propose a new urban design vision of “urban rooms.” The analysis made recommendations for redevelopment projects at the station areas.
UDS staff prepared an urban design concept report for the park blocks between SW Salmon and W Burnside. The report described a vision for the streetscape and park (Director and O’Bryant) linking the South and North Park Blocks through downtown.
